CLIMATE CHAOS ( The Water Cycle )

This week for Climate Chaos (science) we did an activity where we got a big sheet of yellow paper and a piece of paper with 10 hexagons with Scientific words on them. For this activity, we had to cut out the hexagons and then link them together if the scientific words on the hexagons were somehow linked.

These were the words that we thought were somehow linked.
Water Cycle & transpiration- Transpiration is a part of the water cycle.
Transpiration & Water Vapor & Evaporation - They are all the action of water rising in heat.
Water Vapor & precipitation - Water Vapor goes up and then it falls as rain, hail or snow(precipitation)
Precipitation & Acid Rain - When rain falls (precipitation) it can be Acidic ( Acid Rain )
Acid Rain & Carbon Dioxide - Carbon Dioxide can cause acid rain when it gos up into the clouds.
Precipitation & Condensation - Water forms clouds ( condensation )  then falls ( Precipitation )
Climate Change & Hurricanes - Climate Change Can make hurricanes form and appear more often.

Message from Antom Lienert-Brown&The All Blacks

Today at the start of our CIP lesson the teachers showed us a message sent from Antom Lienert-Brown on behalf of the All Blacks . He had heard that we had been creatin videos, poems, the posters, and letters that we would eventually send to them and said that he can't wait to see the things we have created.

To The All Blacks

Today for CIP I created a poem to the all blacks wishing them the best of luck with winning the rugby World Cup.In this poem I tried to include details of what happens at a rugby match.

Hear the stomping through the stands,
With all the fans that clap their hands,
Waving flags through the air,
the night turns bright, its crystal clear,
The All Blacks run while we all cheer,
Happy and hoping they sip their beer,
As we can see the end is near.
A surge of energy rumbles through the crowd
As they have done their country proud.

Is Laughing good for you?

Fro today's activity we watched a video of Mr. Bean and we have to write what we thought was funny about the video. Then we had to find a few videos of our own and write what we thought was funny about them.

VIDEO 1
I thought that this video was really funny because of the way he tried to cover up that he was scared by singing a Sia Furler song called Chandelier XD

VIDEO 2
I thought that this was absolutely hilarious because it was so random and the way he pronounced "watermeloon," was really funny.

VIDEO 3
This vine is one of my favorites as his face and voice are crack up.

The All Blacks!

Today for CIP we dedicated the lesson to researching about the All Blacks. For the activity we filled in a chart about what we know already about the All Blacks, what we want to know about the All Blacks, and what we found out about the All Blacks after searching the Internet for information. To complete this task we had to have at least four bullet points in each of the three columns. Overall I found out a lot about the All Blacks, did you know that the first ever game that the All Blacks played was on the 16th of September 1905.

CIP Letter Writing

Image result for cartoon writing LetterToday in CIP we had to write a letter to someone that we are grateful for or want to thank. I chose to write a letter to one of my teachers who is always helping me out in maths when I get really confused with Fractions. She has also helped me have a positive mindset toward math and helped with my self-confidence.

P.E working as a team

This week in our P.E Hurumanu we have been playing games in the gym in small teams. Our activity was cross-court games  For this activity I rated my self as a level 3
To achieve level 3 we have to show that we can consistently You always make a contribution to the team goal, include yourself in the team activity and others, And sometimes using positive words and actions to encourage our team. During the cross-court games, indoor soccer, bench ball, and floor hockey I showed that I am working at level 3 by cheering on my team and scoring goals for my team and stopping the opposition from scoring in bench ball. These examples show that I have met the standard for level 3. While playing the Cross-court games, something that I found challenging was our team wasn’t communicating with each other. The reason I found this challenging was because we weren't working together as a team, causing us to lose in some of the games. However, I managed to overcome this challenge by communicating with the team and creating a plan. Next week I am aiming to work at level 4 To make sure that I am working that level I am going to work on putting more effort into trying to cheer on my team and taking part in the activity.

KidsCan

Today in CIP I created a DLO about KidsCan which is what this mufti day is fundraising for. In this DLO I had to include what KidsCan is and what they do. Also to show how you can help by donating at the website on the slide.

RADICAL RAINBOW MUFTI DAY!

Today for our CIP lesson we have been planning a mufti day for the whole school to fundraise for
kidsCan. We started off with planning the theme for the mufti day so we got into small groups and started brainstorming. We then voted for the theme that we thought was the best. We decided that the theme was going to be "Radical Rainbow," this meant it will give people some options on what they could wear. After deciding on our theme we started creating posters and DLO's to put up around the school to let people know the date and a few other details of the mufti day. I decided to create a Colorful eye-catching DLO to put up on the TVs around the learning commons while other people created fun colorful posters to put in windows of the classrooms around the school.

Working as a team P.E reflection

This week in our P.E hurumanu we have been playing some games in the old gym to improve our teamwork skills.

Our first activity was floor hockey. For this activity, I rated myself a 3. To be at level three You always make a contribution to the team goal, include yourself in the team activity and others, And sometimes using positive words and actions to encourage our team. During the first game of floor hockey, I showed that I am working at level 3 by stopping the ball from going in our goal, and sometimes got the ball down near our goal, and cheered on my team when I was on the bench.

The second activity was 6 corner soccer for this activity I rated myself a 2. To be at level 2 you sometimes make a contribution to the team goal. But sometimes need the teacher or a teammate to remind me to get involved more. I try to use positive words and actions to encourage my team. During the first game of 6 corner soccer, I showed that I am working at level 2 by kicking the ball now and again but didn't contribute that much. And I did cheer on my team when I wasn't playing.

Next week I'm going to try and get myself up to level 3 on every game no matter what the game is.
