Drama Gender roles in musicals!

Today in drama we watched grease and that got us thinking about gender roles in musicals compared to recent musicals like mean girls. In grease, the boys are expected to be tough, race cars, and smoke like in the scene where sandy and Danny meet at high school. Danny is pressured by the members of his gang, The T birds to act tough and careless. Whereas girls are expected to be Polite, gentle, and wear dresses.  In mean girls, the idea of LGBTQ+ is more accepted, as two of the main characters are gay. Boys are free to be who they want to be, and girls are free to have their own fashion and personality.

My Strengths!

Today as part of our wananga activities we had to look at our strengths. Our task was to color in the blocks that each had a different strength inside with a description of what it means to have that strength. The strengths included Love, Perseverance, Prudence, Social Intelligence, Teamwork, Zest, Love of learning, Perspective, Self Regulation, Spiritually, Appreciation of beauty, Creativity, Fairness, Gratitude, Hope, Humour, Kindness, Bravery, Curiosity, Forgiveness, Honesty, Humility, Judgment, and Leadership. Out of all of those strengths we had to choose five, My five strengths were bravery, curiosity, Humility, Love of learning, and self-regulation. After choosing all of the five strengths we had to create a poster explaining what strengths we choose and a description of each of the strengths. For the final activity, I chose to create my poster on Piktochart which is a great tool for creating presentations and posters! Here is what I created.

Heroes Vs Villains Poster!

Today I was focused on my Hurumanu 5 work, Power to the people Heroes vs villains. Our task was to create a poster About a hero and a villain of our choice.  I did the same ones as I did for my timeline, Nelson Mandela and Adolf Hitler! For my poster, I used the app Canva which was a cool app and something that I would recommend to others and would use again. On my poster, I added photos, points, and achievements that I wrote about on my timeline that I had created. Here is what I have created!
