In business studies we have been looking at money! We created a T chart showing the advantages and disadvantages of money. We also researched about what money is and what it can be used for, and what it was like before we had money. We looked at how we can protect the money system, for example, the government puts clear effects on the notes to stop people from creating their own money.

What does the word acapella mean? 

The word acapella means Means making the song with your voices, aka replacing instruments with your voices. 

What is a vocal warm-up? And why is it important?

A vocal warm-up is a series of exercises meant to prepare your voice for singing! It is very important to do a vocal warm-up as it stretches your vocal chords and clears your throat and helps with breathing.   

What is a vocal range?

Vocal range is the range of pitches a voice can sing. (High and Low)

How does kiwi ingenuity benefit New Zealand as a nation?

New Zealand benefits from Kiwi ingenuity by using what we have around us and used our problem-solving skills to use what we already had in the country. This meant that new Zealand as a nation cut a lot of costs and had more money to spend on things that we needed, for example, security, health, Safer Roads. Kiwi ingenuity also helps us buy attracting tourists to the country and buying from our businesses. The money that the businesses earn gets taxed and goes to the government where they spend it on hospitals, public bathrooms, and keeping our environment clean, which attracts more tourists. 

Theatre!!

Today in drama I read a book about stage makeup by Cathy west! The book told me about tips and tricks about stage makeup, like lighting tricks, color, and details. The book had two main sections, stage makeup, and film makeup. In the book, it told us about the differences in stage and film makeup, for example, stage makeup has to be suitable for indoors and outdoors. Whereas film makeup has to be suitable for closeups and longshot making it easy to spot mistakes in makeup, therefor film makeup has to be perfect. The reason we were reading books is because we wanted to gain knowledge of skills and careers that we would be interested in. The most important thing on stage is energy if you don't have the energy you won't get the part you want or the character you portray will not give the effect that it is supposed too, therefore ruining the energy of the performance.

Solar-powered charging phone cases-

One of the problems almost everyone faces today is your phone running out of battery. We want to improve this so your phone can charge during the day when you out and about doing your daily activities. Our idea is merging two creations, solar panels, and phones. Our plan is to create a heatproof phone case with solar panels attached so that during the day your phone will be charging. Not only is it going to charge it is going to be able to hold charge so that when the sun is not shinning our product will still work.

What product are you trying to improve?
We are trying to improve Mobile phones.

Why we wanted to improve it.
Because whenever I'm out of the house and using my phone, it always dies :(

What would the changes allow for?
It would allow you to go out and about and not worry about your phone dying on you.

Kiwi Ingenuity

For the past week, we have been focusing on looking at kiwi ingenuity. We first drew a picture of we picture as a "Kiwi Bloke." Afterward, we looked at kiwi inventions and how they were an example of ingenuity. 

What is Most Beneficial?

I believe that the most beneficial invention was outdoor clothing and gear. Outdoor gear is something that is used a huge amount to this day. It makes it easier and more efficient when you’re outdoors. For example, the backpack spreads the weight out so that if you’re carrying a backpack for a long period of time you’re back and shoulders don’t get sore. 

What is the least beneficial?

I think that the least beneficial invention was the van bus. I don’t see the point in having a boat in the shape of a van when you can just get a regular boat that is probably cheaper to run and faster.
