Piano (Instrument Study!)

Instrument Study-

THE KEYBOARD!

What is the difference between KeyBoard and Piano??

One of the differences between keyboard and piano is the weight of the keys, piano keys are heavier than keyboard keys as piano keys carry the weight of the hammers. One obvious difference between piano and keyboard is that the keyboard uses electricity when the piano doesn’t.

What is the difference between white keys and black keys?

The white keys represent the musical tones and the black keys represent the half step intervals between those musical tones. The colored keys help pianists decipher between the natural pitches and semitone pitches.

What does the Left and right-hand play on a piano?

The right-hand plays the treble clef which is the top half of the piano and the left-hand plays the bass clef which is the bottom half of the keys on the piano.

Wellbeing

In health, we have been focusing on the four walls of wellbeing. Whare Tapa Wha is about a whare that represents the four walls of our wellbeing, Tane Wairua, Taha Whanau, Taha Tinana, Taha Hinengaro and it shows that without a strong wall then the whole thing collapses. During these lessons, I participated well.  I contributed by completing the work on time to the best of my ability, Next time I'm going to talk less and ask when I don't know what I'm doing. My Hauora is well, But I know I need to work on my physical health. I could do this by spending more time outside with friends and getting away from my Devices

I look in the mirror and what do I see?

A tall, talkative, kind person staring back at me.

I’m really good at reading.

And love music.

And spend lots of time with family and friends.

And I can’t wait till I’m old enough to travel around the world.

I could improve my social skills

And dancing is hard for me, ‘

But I know if I try, ill be the best I can be.

Digital Mihi

For the past week, we have have been working on our own mihi's. We got a choice to do it digitally or on paper in the form of a t-shirt, I choose to do it digitally because I prefer to do it digitally. During creating my mihi I had to do some research about my river and my mountain which I thought was really cool as I didn't even know I had one. In the end, I struggled to pictures of my family but after searching through my very messy drive I ended up finding some from a party that we hosted, that is why they are all dressed up in the photos.

My river is the Avon River Which runs through Christchurch, And my mountain is Mt Cook which I have actually visited while on a trip with my family to The Westcoast. One of my hobbies is cooking, One of my favorite things to cook is Apple crumble which is good when it comes to feeding the whole family. My other hobbies include reading, I usually read Disaster, crime, and fantasy books but I have started reading non-fiction lately. My parent's names are Simon and Francine and they both come from New Zealand, My sibling's names are Zoe who is 17 this year, Ella who is 15 this year, and Hollie who is 11 this year. It has been really weird as we are all at the same school for the first time!

The Treaty Of Waitangi

Today we were learning about the treaty of Waitangi. I looked at the timeline of things happening and what the conditions of the treaty were. I also learned about the wars that took place and why they happened.

Why is the treaty so important -  The treaty is important to New Zealand because it accepts that Māori iwi (tribes) have the right to organize themselves, protect their way of life and to control the resources they own. It also states that Maori will have the same rights as the British and the queen would protect them.

SETTING SAIL!

For this activity, make a list of ten food items that you could take with you on your journey out to sea. Remember to think carefully about what you would take as you won’t have access to a refrigerator or freezer while at sea. Explain why you selected each food item.

Food Number 1 -
The first item of food I would choose would be Canned Tuna as it doesn’t need to be kept in a refrigerator and it gives you high-quality protein and vitamin D.

Food Number 2 -
The second food item I would take is canned beans as they would last the whole trip and will give you protein and iron. And they would make a great Breakfast!
